KYTC is pleased to share with the RFP Documents were released last Wednesday, January 25 for the US 421 Progressive Design Build Project to deliver highway improvements to US 421 in Harlan County between the 0-mile marker (Virginia/Kentucky border) the 3.3-mile marker (terminus of the previous widening of this corridor). The RFP Documents can be found here, below on KYTC's Alternative Delivery Projects Construction Procurement site. KYTC is looking forward to discussing the Project further during the anticipated 1.5 hour One-on-One meetings held on February 20, 2023 at the District 11 Office in Manchester, KY. To attend a One-on-One meeting, interested Proposers must submit a non-binding Interest Letter by February 3, 2023 and an Agenda for the One-on-One meeting by February 10, 2023, both fully described in the Instruction to Proposers. KYTC will inform Proposers ahead of time of any time KYTC would like to reserve for KYTC questions to the Proposers. While there may be options to accommodate virtual attendance, KYTC would like all anticipated Key Personnel to be in-person for the February 20, 2023 One-on-One meetings. Presentations may be used to support the proposed agenda during the meeting. Agendas and questions on the RFP Process and RFP Documents can be submitted to the project email KYTC.US421PDB@ky.gov.

On February 16th at 10 am, KYTC will host an independent cost estimation information session. Presenters will be Stanton Constructability and Innovative Contracting and Estimating (ICE Teams). The event will take place at 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY in the Auditorium. We will have a presentation from Stanton and ICE with an opportunity for questions and answers afterward. Invitation to Industry Forum on Alternative Delivery Project Mountain Parkway Expansion Magoffin County and potentially Floyd County January 16, 2023 The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will conduct a virtual forum on the subject project from 10-10:30 a.m. on January 23, 2023, for all who would like more information on this Alternative Delivery Project. The forum will provide a brief overview of the proposed project as well as discuss Alternative Delivery options. KYTC is planning to issue a Notice to Industry soon and will be asking industry partners to share ideas through one-on-one meetings following the scheduled forum.
